Sword, Vietnam, 19th century.

Straight, double-edged blade of lenticular section, ribbed at the base, with small engravings depicting spirals and geometrical motifs at the forte; bronze quillon decorated with bas-relieved dragon head with remains of silver plating on a side, pommel en suite, silver ring-nut, horn grip with floral chiselling. Wooden scabbard with mother of pearl tarsia depicting floral motifs, silver mounts with bas-relieved decorations. Length 75 cm.
